Industrial visit

Event

IIAS School of Management  organised an industrial visit cum excursion for all the students of B.B.A department  on 28th November 2019

According to Francis Bacon a famous English Philosopher travelling is a part of education. An excursion is not just a pleasure trip; it enhances the knowledge of the students beyond the four walls of classroom. To provide such an enriching experience to students of BBA department, IIAS school of Management organised an excursion cum industrial visit last November 2019.

Educational tours are part and parcel of the life of the students. Students need rest and entertainment after working hard for many days. Excursions can provide them solace and help them to form a route from their tedious study schedules. This time we visited Sikkim and explored many places in and around. The students visited Rangpo, Teesta, Waterfall at Tarkhola and Tibetan monastery.  Students were mesmerised by the panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, which is a section of the Himalayas.

Students of BBA department developed love for nature and got real happiness when they got a chance to visit Tsongo Lake and Baba Mandir . Tsongo Lake  also known as change Lake is aglacial lake in Sikkim and located at a altitude of 12,310 feet. It is located 40 kms from Gangtok town on the steep route known as Jawaharlal Nehru road. The nature walk along the Tsomgo Lake were something new for the students.

In this trail, a memorable trip was extended to Baba Mandir near Tsomgu Lake. It is located between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13,123ft and about 52 kms away from Gangtok. Baba Harbhajan Singh temple is popularly known as Baba Mandir. One usually covers this temple along with a visit to Tsomgo Lake. We reached Baba Mandir around 12.30 pm. Though it was a sunny day , cool breeze were felt due to the high altitude. The Students had a long walk ahead of them from the parking place till the site of Baba Mandir. The walk was very tiresome because of the high altitude. But the site was worth the trek. The view was beautiful. After reaching the final destination, the actual joy of satisfaction was revealed. On the way back to Tsomgo we all had refreshments with light snacks. After exploring the scenic beauty of nature at Tsomgo Lake we returned back to Gangtok.

Finally it was time to bid goodbye to Sikkim and time to tap our feet back to our destination, yes it was the ultimate time to enjoy all the way back home. In simpler words the trip was filled with laughter, joy and dancing. Last but not the least; it was a memorable journey which the students of BBA department enjoyed to the fullest.
