Founder & Chief Mentor
Mr.Abhijit De did his M.Sc.in Applied Physics from BIT, Ranchi and Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship Management from Sydenham College, Mumbai.Travelled extensively in USA, Europe and Asian countries to attend international conferences and establishing academic collaborations.
He is a Paul Harris fellow of Rotary International and was also adjudged “Education Entrepreneur of the Year” – 2011. With more than 35 years of experience in industry and educational entrepreneurship and management, his vision is the driving force of IIAS Education Group.
Governing Body Member
A professionally qualified Cost & Management Accountant and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He is a Member of Calcutta Management Association and was awarded the Fulbright Grant and visited different Universities and Institutions in USA under University Administrators Project through USEFI.
He has over Forty years’ rich experience in Administration, Finance and Academic Administration. Dr. Acharyya has served IIT Kharagpur as Registrar and CVO, ICWAI (now ICAI) as Secretary & Chief Executive, Coal India in Senior Administrative position and as Director of different Management Institutions. He has visited USA, UK, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh as official Delegate from ICWAI/IIT Kharagpur in different international conferences. His publications on management, human values and ethics and education policy in different journals including referral journals are many. He is a leader manager.
Dr. S. R. Acharyya holds his Ph.D Degree from Meerut University with focus on Human Resource Development.

Prof. R.K. Chaudhuri is a Corporate Trainer. He is an F.I.E. (India), an MBA, and B.TECH (Hons) from IIT (Kharagpur). He is trained in ‘Techniques of Training’ at NITIE (Bombay) and has proficiency certificate in Japanese Language.
He is having 30 years of experience in Power Utility in very senior position and apart from field experience; he is having over 25 years of teaching and training experience in various organizations.
Prof. Chaudhuri designed and implemented a training course on techno-commercial engineering for International Participants from South East Asia, Europe, and Africa etc. under Colombo plan of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

A Doctor by profession, Dr. Ray is a seasoned administrator at some of largest hospitals in Eastern India and has a multi-faceted personality.
He is currently the VP at Techno Global Hospitals and also Board member at the prestigious Calcutta Club.
In his free time, Dr. Ray dabs in acting, media anchoring and various social activities through Prajaak NGO, where he is a Governing Body member.

Before retiring from Government of West Bengal Service in 2016, Mr. Debraj Banerjee played a key role for long 14 years in various spheres of Secretariat administration in Higher Education Department.
He is presently engaged as Executive Officer of an Urban Local Body under West Bengal Government.

CMA Manas Kumar Thakur is an eminent Cost & Management professional of today having a rare blend of expertise in theory and its application in resource optimization. Being the senior Partner of Thakur & Co. since 1993, he has been instrumental for the last 28 years, in spearheading the application of various cost management tools for evaluating activities and designing processes for improving operational efficiency, analysing business inherent risks and suggesting techniques of mitigating them for many leading Corporates of India. An avid proponent of sustainable development and growth through MSMEs and the rural economy he has always advocated a bottom-up management approach for optimal cost analysis and monitoring techniques to reduce monetary and talent wastage, so prevalent in India. During his eventful professional journey, CMA Mr Thakur has shown his formidable capabilities in the areas of Cost Analysis and review, Pricing policy determination, Financing Projects, Banking consortium loan syndicate arrangement, Advisory in Capital Structuring, Debt Restructuring, Preparation of Manual such as Accounts, Audit, HR, Purchase, Project evaluation, Statutory Audits under different Laws of the Country etc. He is also regarded as an expert in the areas of Indirect Taxation like Goods & Service Tax, Customs and allied matters.
He was elected for the coveted post of the President of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India(A statutory body under an Act of Parliament) in the year 2016-17. His management skill and visionary approach transformed the profession of Cost & Management Accountancy a most sought after career avenue for the young aspirants. Through his relentless efforts during the earlier years of his association with the Institute in many prestigious capacities including Central Council Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (2011-15 & 2015-19), Chairman, Training, Placement & Educational Facilities Committee(2017-19) , Chairman –CAT (Certificate in Accounting Technicians) Committee (2018-19) , Chairman, Board of Advanced Studies, (2016-18), Chairman, Eastern India Regional Council –( 2009-2010), Regional Council Member of the Eastern India Regional Council –( 2004-2011), the Institute made a powerful progression to its zenith . CMA Mr Thakur has also played a prominent role in different capacities in the Government of India including Advisory Member of Corporate Debt Restructuring (CDR) of RBI (2015-17) and Board Member of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI)( 2017-19) , Member of the Small & Medium Practices (SMP) Committee(2014-16). To recognize his efforts, he was conferred Bharat Nirman Award (2015-16) at Delhi as an expert Finance Professional and Special Award from Indian Society of Training and Developing (ISTD) for his outstanding contribution to bridging the gap of skill deficit of young aspirants.
His contribution has been well respected not only in India but also by the International Accounting and Regulatory Bodies. He has been offered a Life membership at the most prestigious Institute of Switzerland namely “The International Institute of Certified Professional Accountants”( IICPA). His expertise was also duly regarded by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) where he served as a Board member and as a Technical Advisor as well. A motivator and leader in his own rights, he is keen to disseminate his professional wisdom to the younger generation to make a future ready India. He is prolific in writing and authored several books on Operations Management, Cost Audit, Cost & Management Accountancy, Valuation Management etc. His articles have also been published in several National and International journals including different accounting and professional bodies/ institutions. He also delivered lectures on topics of resource optimization, cost control and sensible development in various Management Institutes, Organisations in India and abroad.CMA Mr Thakur regards himself as a responsible citizen of India above all and always feels the urge to contribute to social cause of weaker sections of our society in whatever way he can.

With over more than decade of professional hospitality experience specializing in managing and training staff with sound experience in quality assurance parameters and interpersonal skills. Sharmila has done her graduation in International Hospitality Management from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, U.K. During the professional life-cycle, she has been associated with international brand like Hyatt Hotels Corporation for more than 8 years. She was also associated with Ritu Kumar, the Indian fashion designer house as their Training Head. She have been creating L&D Framework and set-up learning function at India’s first Andaz branded hotel by Hyatt. Training employees on conversations and style as well as designing colleague experience for hiring, training and the social areas where they come together to interact with internal and external customers. She expertise in preparing training strategy focused on pre-opening of the hotel, systems training, skills training and behaviour training for all employees.
She has conducted many employee orientation and induction including Skills training for all employees. Designed Leadership Development Program and Strategy for the hotels focused on various employees with varied skill level. Facilitated Guest interaction and empathy interviews using design thinking to improve work performance.
Presently she is part of The Accrue Hospitality, i.e. a budding yet dynamic hospitality consulting firm established in July 2019 offering turnkey services to its partners. The Accrue recommends a spectrum of comprehensive solutions across hospitality verticals through their dedicated team. She handles the Operational and Learning and Development function of the organisation.

Dr. Angshuman Chatterjee started working in the hospitality industry in 1983. After working in the industry, in managerial position, for five years, he taught at IHM for 21 years. He has since served some of the leading institutions in the country as Principal/Director/CEO.
Dr. Chatterjee is a highly respected trainer in the country. He is one among a small group of trainers with the Department of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India.
He is the recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award for successfully serving the Hospitality Industry for more than three decades, awarded by Association of Hospitality Professionals’ Welfare – India, 2019.
Asst. Registrar
An integral member of the IIAS family since 1996, he brings with him more than 20 years experience in Finance Management, Operations Management and Legal Administration. He has completed the Master in Commerce from Calcutta University and also holds a MBA in Hospitality Management.

Dr Sweta Patnaik is a motivating and talented HR professor driven to inspire students to pursue academic and personal excellence. Consistently strive to create a challenging and engaging learning environment in which students become lifelong scholars and learner. She is a MBA, MPhil and Phd in International HRM, is a graduate mentor, innovative thinker, personable, approachable and inspiring teacher with more than 15 years of experience.

Graduated from IHM Shillong, Atanu has 6 years experience in hospitality industry at national and international venues, and 2 years experience under National and International Universities as Assistant Professor. He is a passionate professional hospitality trainer.

Raj is one of the most dynamic faculty here at IIAS. Having worked in the hospitality sector for more than 12 years, he is a perfect amalgam of the theoretical and in-hand teaching processes. He has worked both in India and abroad, and have worked with different organisations at various levels.
Apart from a Bachelor of Arts degree, he also has a certificate on Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management and presently pursuing MBA in Hotel and Tourism Management. He is also a certified trainer in hospitality and has worked in the skill development of students for the past 2 years.

He is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Hotel Management at IIAS, School of Management, Siliguri; Darjeeling, W.B., in the Room Division Department ( Front Office & Accommodation Operations ).
As per his academic qualification, he completed post-graduation in M.B.A (Hospitality & Tourism Management), 2018 after B.A.,1993 from Vidyasagar Univesity, Paschim Medinipur, W.B., then he has successfully overcome 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition from Durgapur Society of Management Science(DSMS), Durgapur, W.B. in the year of 1996.
As per his professional qualification is concerned, 5 years experience in the Hotel Industry throughout the state of Gujarat as well as 22 years experience as an academician in Hotel Management Institutions throughout India.
He is a dynamic and enthusiastic, well versed knowledgeable faculty on his specialised subjects and involved in various aspects for the development of the institution, imparting quality education, as well as associated with co-curricular activities of the bonafide students.

Komal Thami is a postgraduate in English Literature from the University of
North Bengal. She has the experience of working as an editor and creative
writer for many web portals and magazines. She is also a part of an anthology
published by Penguin Random House. She is a hardworking teacher, who
intends to adopt a student-centric approach in her teaching methods.

Chef Smritikana Halder has a background in hotel management and tourism, having completed her Bachelor’s degree from DSM School of Management. She began her career in Food Production at Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur. In her free time, she enjoys painting and dancing. Currently, Chef Halder serves as a Chef Patissier at IIAS School of Management.
