The IIAS Training & Placement Cell
The IIAS Training and Placement Cell, the marketing division of the
institute, has the following functions and responsibilities:
Nurtures Industry Institute interaction, by organizing and
coordinating frequent industrial visits, industrial training and projects
of industrial relevance for the students, with the sole aim of zeroing
down the hiatus between the industry and the academia.
Receives and forwards the feedback pertinent to curriculum improvement
from the visiting companies to the faculty, to ensure that the curriculum
follows the latest industrial trends.
Helps every student define his/her career interest through individual
expert counseling.
Makes available updated database and job profile of the companies and
thus helps each student analyze and choose company of his/her interest.
Organizes and coordinates Campus Placement Program, to fulfill its
commitment of a job to every aspirant.
Works towards continuing education for the staffs through Orientation
Programmes.
Over the years, the IIAS Training & Placement Cell has maintained
symbiotic, vibrant and purposeful relationship with Hospitality
Organizations across the country, as well as abroad, and as a result, has
built up an impressive placement record both in terms of percentage of
registered students placed, as well as the number of companies visiting the
campus.
Internship (Industrial Training) Programme including Retail Internship
Internships or Industrial Training placements are Programmes that allow
students to gain practical (hands-on) work experience and academic credit at
the same time. These are supervised Programmes of work and study which
involve students working in different areas applying skills and knowledge
obtained in the course of their studies.
An internship is considered a para-professional or pre-professional
experience which gives the student an opportunity to apply knowledge from
the classroom in an employment setting consistent with the students’ choice
of career field. Internships may be paid or unpaid, but the students gain
valuable work experience and the opportunity to see and be seen by possible
future employers. Internship placements are usually for periods of 1 – 3
months and it is compulsory for the students to go on internship as required
from time to time during their course.
IIAS provides guidance in the preparation of personal CVs of the
students. Detailed guidelines regarding training requirements and
performance are briefed to the students.
Internship performance of each student placed is monitored in
coordination with the trainer of the organization.
Assistance to each student during their training period.
Students are required to submit comprehensive assessment report on
completion of their internship.
Hospitality Internships or Industrial Training placements are programmes

Role of IIAS in Hospitality Internship
IIAS connects and arranges quality-training placements with leading
star category organizations in the hospitality, tourism & leisure
industry, by arranging interviews for the students.
IIAS Training & Placement Coordinator provides guidance in the

Campus Recruitment
The students of IIAS are placed through the campus recruitment program. The
placement activities are coordinated by a placement committee headed by the
Training & Placement Coordinator of each institute and faculty members.
A large number of organizations are contacted and invited to participate in
the placement program. Every year the Campus Selection process begins
immediately after the registration of students in the pre-final semester or
final year of their course. Invitations are sent to prospective
organizations through an attractive Placement Brochure showcasing the
profile of all the students of the batch along with all relevant information
to participate in the campus recruitment. A large number of leading and
reputed organizations visit the Institute every year and select students for
placement. The offers are made by the company after the selection process
and the offer letters are signed and accepted by the concerned students and
sent to the company through the Training and Placement Department. Till date
the Campus selections for IIAS students have been nearly 100%.
INDUSTRY SEMINAR & CAREER COUNSELING :
Besides overall grooming of the students, IIAS also arrange regular "CAREER
GUIDANCE " workshops with eminent Career Counsellors, Educationists & Industry
Professionals so that teh students can be tuned in & focused from one day and
prepare themselves for the industries as per their dreams and expectations.
INTERNSHIP AND STUDY ABROAD:
Students undergoing various under-graduate and post-graduate programmes
conducted at IIAS attend intership programmes of duration one to six months in
India . Students of some programmes have the option of finishing their final
year of study in foreign universities leading to degrees awarded by them.
However, transfer to foreign campuses are subject to their acceptance by that
University and granting of Visa by the host country.
The quality standards of education and industry oriented training in respective fields has helped many of our students to start their careers with some reputed Hotels and Industries.
