STEP 3

OBTAINING PROSPECTUS & APPLICATION FORMS  - STEP 1

METHOD 1.
COLLECT IT FROM THE IIAS OFFICES

Prospectus and Application Forms for all courses of IIAS may be obtained from any of the IIAS offices located at Kolkata, Siliguri, Goa and Dehradun or may also be obtained from the offices of IIAS Representatives and IIAS appointed Educational Consultants located in various cities in India. 

Cost of Prospectus will include Admission Test Fee in applicable cases.

METHOD 2.
DOWNLOAD APPLICATION FORMS FROM THE IIAS WEBSITE

You may alternatively download IIASAT Sample Test Paper (if applicable) and Application form our site.

Downloaded forms should be duly filled and submitted to the nearest IIAS office. List of places where forms may be submitted. Forms may be submitted personally or couriered.

On submission of the forms, the applicant has to buy the prospectus at
Rs. 300/- for all programmes.

Cost of Prospectus includes Admission Test Fee.

IIAS ADMISSION TEST (IIASAT)  - STEP 2

The  IIAS ADMISSION TEST (IIASAT) is the first step in the process for seeking admission to any undergraduate or postgraduate programme offered by IIAS.

Admission for specific programmes will be based on performance in Written Test and Personal Interview and for some specific programmes will be based on Personal Interview and academic records.

  • The Test Admit Card containing your Test Centre Code, Test Centre Address and Phone No., Roll No. etc., will be mailed to you by the appropriate authority. 
  • Appear for Admission Test in a notified date and time as mentioned in your Test Admit Card. You are advised to reach the Test Centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the test. 

BOTH WRITTEN TEST AND PERSONAL INTERVIEW IS APPLICABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING

PERSONAL INTERVIEW
  • Appear for personal Interview in a notified date and time as mentioned in your Test Admit Card.
  • List of selected applicants will be published.
  • Selected applicants can complete the formalities for admission in the respective course within due date as notifies by the authority. 

ONLY PERSONAL INTERVIEW IS APPLICABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING

Business Management Courses:
(Code GPB, GPCPRS ) there will be no written test. Student will have to appear in personal interview only.

 

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Candidates having valid score obtained in CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA etc. or any other national level entrance examinations, recognized by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, are exempted from the Written Test for Post Graduate Programmes in Business & Entrepreneurship. But they need to  appear in Personal Interview only.

Appear for Admission Test in a notified date and time as mentioned in your Test Admit Card. You are advised to reach the Test Centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the test.

 

 


 

How to appy for the IIASAT ? - STEP 3

 

1. The IIASAT is the first step in the process for seeking admission to the undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in respective courses offered by IIAS.
2. Carefully complete all the necessary items of the application form. Incomplete forms will be rejected.
3. Please retain a photocopy of the application form for any emergency requirement.
4.  If you belong to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or OBC, you should enclose an attested copy of the Caste or Tribe or OBC certificate with the application form.
5. On the envelope containing the application form, please write in CAPITAL LETTERS: “IIASAT APPLICATION FORM”
6. It is advisable to send in your application form by courier / by registered post / by hand to avoid any loss in postal transit.
7. The Test Admit Card containing your Test Centre Code, Test Centre Address and Phone No., Roll No. etc., will be mailed to you by the appropriate authority.
8. Please quote the Centre Code / Test Roll No. mentioned in the Test Admit Card in all your correspondence with IIAS during admission.
9.  Choose one Test Centre from the list of centres and indicate it on the Application Form. Once the choice of centre is made, the Institute will not entertain requests from applicants for a change of centre for any reasons.

10. Boxes are provided in the application form for writing name and mailing address etc.; use one box for each letter or number and leave one box blank between two words.

GUIDELINES FOR THE IIASAT WRITTEN TEST

 IIASAT May 2010  Written Examination is applicable to the following courses 

Business Management Courses : (Code PGB - MBA)

The Admission Test consists of questions in areas such as English Language, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Numerical Ability. 
Please note that this is not a test of memory but one of your knowledge and understanding. A sample test is provided in the prospectus.

The Admission Test consists of questions in areas such as English Language, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Numerical Ability. Please note that this is not a test of memory but one of your knowledge and understanding. A sample test is given afterwards. 
Instructions:
 1.  You should be in your assigned seat at the Test Centre by at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the test; late comers will not be allowed to enter the hall. You are advised to reach the Test Centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the test.

 

2.  

You should bring the following to the Test Centre: 
(a) Your Test Admit Card, without which you will not be allowed to take the test.
(b) HB pencil, erasers, sharpeners and pen. 
(c) Cell phone, Log Table, Calculator, Pager will not be allowed in the examination hall.

3. 
Read the instructions carefully provided in the Question Paper Booklet and Answer Paper. Provide information asked for and sign where indicated. Darken / Tick mark appropriate areas using HB pencil only.

4.  A Test Booklet containing several sections will be distributed. Write the Test Booklet serial no. etc., from your Test Booklet on the Answer Sheet provided. Each section contains several items / questions. You should read the directions for each section of the test carefully. If you skip the directions, you may miss the main idea for some questions in that section.

 

5.  Wrong answer carries no negative marks.

 

6.  You should remain seated after completing the test. The supervisor / invigilator will collect the test booklet, and the answer sheet. You will be allowed to leave the hall only after the test booklets and answer sheets from all candidates in your hall have been collected and accounted for.

7. 
Candidates found violating the instructions of the Test Centre Supervisor will be disqualified. Any candidate giving assistance or seeking / receiving help from any source in answering questions or copying otherwise in the test will forfeit his / her chance of being considered for admission.

 

In all matters concerning IIASAT, the IIAS’s decision will be final and binding on the applicant.
