IIAS - ABOUT US

IIAS (formerly known as International Institute of Advanced Studies) was established in 1990 in Kolkata with the objective of providing quality education at under graduate and post graduate levels to young aspirants in a stimulating environment of independent thinking and innovation in various disciplines of Hospitality, Business Management and Information Technology. Gradually it spread its centres to Siliguri (1995), ‘Miramar, Goa’ (1997), Bhilai (2003), ‘Porvorim, Goa’ (2005) and Dehradun (2006) respectively. 

IIAS is focused on value addition to the courses that it offers to the student community and provides the unique combination of academic excellence, opportunities, choices and experience. With rapid globalization of all economic activities, it is imperative that students develop a global outlook to become successful in the international arena.

IIAS charitable trust is running a group of institutions since 1990 in Kolkata, Siliguri centre was opened in 1995, Goa Miramar in 1997 & Goa Porvorim in 2005, Bhilai in 2003, Dehradun in 2006 for conducting Degree, Diploma and Certificate level courses in Hospitality & Tourism Management, Business Administration, Computer Application, Information Management, Network Management, Media & Communication etc.

M.Sc. (Applied Psychology), (C.U.), Ph.D. (Manchester, U.K.) He was Associate Professor at Jamunalal Bajaj Institute of Management Mumbai before joining the Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd, Haldia as HEAD of the Dept of Training. He is currently a Management Consultant.

M.Com., FICWA, Ph.D., MNIPM, MIIA (U.S.A.) He was the NTPC Chair Professor & Director of National Institute of Human Development, Vivekananda Nidhi, Kolkata. Prior to joining this organisation, he was the Secretary of ICWAI, Registrar of IIT Kharagpur, Sr. Admn. Officer at COAL INDIA.

Dr. (Prof.) D. Ghosh Dastidar - External Member
M.Sc., Ph. D. (IIT Kanpur) He was the Professor and Head of the Computer Science and Engg Dept. of Jadavpur Univesity, Senior Research Assistant in IIT, Kanpur. He was acted as Coordinator of the IMPACT Project funded by World Bank, Swiss Development Cooperation and Govt. of India, Member of the Court, Jadavpur University, Member of the Academic Council, Jadavpur University.

Mr. Abhijit De - President/Chairman, IIAS Charitable Trust - Permanent Invitee

He has done his Master’s degree in Applied physics from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi (a Deemed University). Subsequently, he did his Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship Management from Syndenham College, Bombay. He has 4 years of experience in manufacturing industry and 22 years experience in setting up and management of professional educational institutions. He is a member of Rotary Club of Salt Lake Mid Town and has served as its member of Board of Directors, Secretary, President, etc. He is Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, U.S.A.
